The Vigfusson House
This was the first house moved onto the property and our oldest house on the property! Come listen to the legend of John Ramsey and his connection to the Vigfusson family.
The Interpretive Centre
Marvel at our various exhibits that depict what life was like 100 years ago including our old fashioned storefronts, cultural displays, as well as many other exhibits.
Sigvaldason House
This was the house that Bjorn and Lara Sigvaldason and their 16 children called home for over 50 years. Witness how the family lived and admire many of the artifacts original to the family.
St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church
This Provincial Historic building is a must see! Coming from Bjarmi, this church has most of its original artifacts including an all glass candle chandelier. The church was also re-santioned again after restoration so church services can be held in there again.
Oddleifsson House
Also known as the Gullbringa house, this building is the oldest Icelandic building still standing in all of New Iceland!
Kowalsky house
This Beautiful Polish home was moved on site in the summer of 2009. Many of the Kowalsky family volunteered hundreds of hours of tender loving care into the restoration. Come admire all their hard work.
The Saunders House
This log house was one out of three buildings donated by the Winnipeg Beach Ukrainian Homestead Museum. It is currently in the restoration stage.
The Ice House
This small building was used before the invention of electric refrigeration. At the moment we cannot go inside, as it is currently being restored.
Poplar Heights School
One of our newest buildings on the tour!! Come experience what it was like to go to one of these early 1900’s one room schoolhouses.
Brandson House
Sigruidur and Jodis raised 10 children in this home. Mrs. Brandson was well known for her hospitality and received 40 visitors in one day alone! Also, come see our tribute to the North Star Creamery where their son Oskar worked.
The Slipachuk House
This typical Ukrainian house was built in the early 1920's by Fred & Anne Slipachuk. It was also donated by the Winnipeg Beach Museum along with the Saunders house and Grist Mill.
Ukrainian Bake Oven
Our replica of the typical Ukrainian oven. Some learn about how they were made and on special occasions taste the bread that comes out of it.
Hykaway Grist Mill
One of the last grist mills left in Canada! Come see this impressive handmade grist mill made entirely by hand from the stones, to the sails.
General Store
Replicating the look of local stores in the area, this building takes you back to a time when they would have everything you needed. With a garage attached to the back this shop includes a number of interesting artifacts to explore!
Caboose
The CP railway was an important addition to the Arborg area. When it came to Arborg (Ardal) in 1910, it opened up transportation to and from Winnipeg for equipment, livestock, and passengers. Take a tour inside the Caboose car to experience the life of a train crew!
